Welcome to Regional Arthritis and Rheumatology Associates

Monday to Thursday - 8AM to 5PM, Friday 8 AM to 12:30 PM

We provide Infusion therapies (intravenous medications) at our rheumatologic care center. Newer biologic medications may be used in the treatment of a variety of illnesses such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, iritis, ankylosing spondylitis and advanced metabolic and biologic agents may soon be administered for conditions such as osteoporosis, vasculitis, certain inflammatory muscle conditions, etc. These important new therapies have radically changed the treatment of many immunologic diseases, and have given new hope to many patients.

RARA has a dedicated staff of nurses who perform the infusions therapies and frequently take Dr. Hassan’s guidance when it comes to the specific needs of the infusion patients. Infusion Information and Instructions Welcome to RARA infusion center. We hope that you have a positive health treatment experience with us and hope that you find our staff and facilities pleasant, friendly and accommodating. Our professional nurses are experienced, cognizant of the treatment options and work hard to give the best care possible. The rooms are equipped with reclining chairs and although we do not have private rooms, we hope you will find the atmosphere comfortable and relaxing. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate family or friends as our chairs are reserved for patients only. We offer bottled water while you are getting your infusions and are welcome to bring a lunch or snack.

Our facilities have TVs and you may bring a book, laptop, DVD player with ear phones. Please refrain from talking on the phone while you are in the infusion center out of respect for other patients. Before your Infusion Your physician will discuss your infusion options with you. He/she will then order blood tests including hepatitis panel, TB test, and a chest x-ray if you haven’t had these done recently. As soon as the tests have been completed, the results will be reviewed by your physician. The Infusion Coordinator will then get approval from your insurance. The Infusion Coordinator will call you to schedule the first couple of infusions.

Some of our medications require us to pre-medicate you. These pre-medications may include, but are not limited to: Tylenol, Benadryl or Claritin, and Solumedrol. Please arrange for your transportation in case you are a little drowsy after your infusion.
